Class Schedule
Student Conduct
The purpose of Spotlight Dance Studio is to provide quality dance instruction in a funfilled atmosphere. The instructors work for Spotlight Dance Studio because they are passionate about both children and dance. Spotlight Dance Studio will always be polite and show the utmost respect towards the Students and the art of dance. We will expect the same behavior from both our Students as well as their Families. Rude or disruptive behavior from any Student or Family will result in immediate dismissal from the studio to protect the integrity of the Students and Families who comply by the Spotlight Dance Studio, LLC. rules..
Required Dance Wear
- Leotard
- Tights
- Lycra Shorts over leotard acceptable
- Jazz pants acceptable
(Boys: shorts and a non-loose shirt).
Shoes required:
- Predance: Tap and Ballet shoes.
- Ballet/Lyrical: Ballet shoes (pink).
- Jazz/Hip-Hop: Jazz shoes/Sneakers.
- Tap: Tap shoes.
- Pointe: Pointe Shoes
All students’ hair must be tied back and secured for class.
No jewelry, gum or
candy. Sweats can be worn during warm-ups only.
Tuition

Recital
Scheduled dates for rehearsal and recital are Friday, May 11th and Saturday, May 12th, 2012. There will be two recital performances (matinee and evening) Admission Tickets will be sold in advance.
Costumes
Average recital costume cost per class is $75. A $50 costume deposit per class will be required at registration.
The costume balance will be issued in January. There are no costume deposit refunds after December 16th, 2011.
To help keep costume costs down we rely on the parents to make any minor alterations.
Classes Offered
Classes in: Ballet, Lyrical, Jazz, Tap, PreDance, Hip-Hop, and Pointe are offered.
Students are placed by age and skill level as determined by the instructor.
Important Dates
- Summer classes begin June 19th, 2012 and run through the week of August 7th
(Closed July 2nd- July13th) - Registration at the studio on the following dates from 5 - 8pm:
- Mon, Wed - June 4th & June 6th
- Mon, Wed - June 11th & June 13th

Sara Fergus - Company Director Sara Fergus plans to graduate from Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Dance.Ms. Sara has trained in jazz, tap, hip hop, ballet, lyrical, and modern dance. She has been honored with scholarships to attend dance intensives all across the United States. Spotlight Performing Dance Company has won numerous top honors at regional and national competitions. Ms. Sara has won several choreography awards for her innovative and creative choreography. She has also been invited to be a part of the Applause Talent Competition staff as a professional judge. She is the driving force that makes her students excel and strives to offer the “best” in dance education. |
Kayla Daley - Instructor Kayla is currently a senior at Eastern Michigan University where she is studying dance. She has been on the EMU dance team and a team officer for two years. She has been in many performances at Eastern as well as performed at the American College Dance Festival. Her choreography was selected to be performed at the Undergraduate Symposium at Eastern, and she recently received the Dance Major of the Year Award. Kayla also received international recognition when she competed and won two awards in Italy. Her training consists of Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Modern, Pom, and Lyrical. She has been dancing since the age of five and has competed in numerous dance competitions, receiving national recognition as part of a national performance team. Other than dance, Kayla has been a choreographer and instructor for color guards, pageants, and theatre productions. She lives, sleeps, and breathes dance, and she hopes to share that passion with her students. |
